Description on the Programmes

 

Sympsosium

 

A forum to discuss on the latest and upcoming challenges that is faced by Pharmacists in Malaysia and how a Pharmacist can play a leading role in the changing façade of the Healthcare system.

 
  • The theme for the symposium will be centered on “Pharmacy…..Leading the Wave of Change”.

 

PharmRace

 

The tentative venue will be Taman Jubli Perak.

 

Community Service

 

NoGAPS 2010 will focus on promoting our profession as a part of Community Service. It will be held in Secondary Schools around Sungai Petani. There will be 2 activities carried out; interaction with the students,

our target is Form 4 and Form 5 students. The other activity will be booth display…..regarding the various roles that a Pharmacist plays.

 

Workshop

 

The proposed theme for the Workshop is “Discover the Leader in You”. A speaker will be invited to conduct this Workshop.


PCE (Patient Counseling Education)

 

PCE is included in NoGAPS 2010 in pursue to globalize NoGAPS as PCE is an annual event in International Pharmaceutical Student Federation (IPSF) Congress. Each university can send in 2 representatives. From the preliminary round, the top 5 with highest point will be selected for the Final Round.

Ms.Jane Ho from Taiwan  and pharmacist from Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim will be invited to be the Judges.

 

v  Each University is required to send ONE (1) contestant for PCE.

 

MyPSA AGM

 

MyPSA AGM is conducted once in two years. A new committee will be elected to lead MyPSA for the next two years. The MyPSA Exco has required 4 hours for the AGM.

 

 

Post NoGAPS Tour

 

This tour is conducted after the completion of NoGAPS 2010 programmes. It is not compulsory for all the participants but only for participants who are interested.

 

The tentative venue is a tour to Thailand. No passport is required as we will be making a group passport. The budget is estimated around RM 200-300 per person.

 

The programme is still in discussion. Once complete detail is obtained, it will be circulated to all the universities.

Selected students for APPS Korea 2010

Attention :

To all applicants for APPS Korea 2010, Public Relations Bureau is here to announce that only 6 students are selected to receive sponsorship from Kulliyyah of Pharmacy whom are:

The name listed will receive RM 400.00 per person as Kulliyyah of Pharmacy is  strictly on budget. But for those who still wish to participate at own cost,  only 5 seriously interested students will be given the opportunity. If you keen to participate, please contact head of PR for confirmation (applied to those  who had submitted resume earlier).

9th Asia-Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium 2010

 

Asia-Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium (APPS) is an annual event organized with cooperation of the Asia Pacific Regional-Officer (APRO), which is part of the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF).

 

APPS is considered as one of the prestigious events of Asia Pacific Regional Office – International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (APRO-IPSF) and it is held in different countries of the Asia Pacific region every year. 

For the upcoming event in 2010, the 9th APPS event will take place in Seoul, Republic of Korea and will be hosted by the Korean National Association for Pharmaceutical Students (KNAPS).

 

Among the activities that will be conducted during APPS are Pharmaceutical Symposium, Poster presentation, community services, cultural night and Post-Tour.

We believe that these involvements are important because they enable students to gain a better understanding of global pharmaceutical issues.

 

The objectives of this event are:

    *      To discuss current issues regarding the pharmacy profession and education.

    *      To expose and disclose the students to real situations in the pharmacy field around the world.

    *      To build network among pharmacy students within the Asia Pacific region and worldwide.

    *      To promote cultural exchange among the students.

 

Details:

Venue - Seoul National University, Republic of Korea

Date - 4th - 10th July 2010

Tentative - will be updated later

Fees - RM 3k ++ (including registration fees, flight, accomodation and food)

Kulliyyah of Pharmacy will allocate some budget, but cannot cover most of the expenses. Sponsorship drive and own money is still required. For those who are interested to join, you can submit your resume for selection as participant or committees for sponsorship drive.

Please sumbit your resume to repsected PR representative from each batch latest by Friday, 8th Jan 2010.
